Tori Greathouse

Director of Growing Room Christian Academy of Columbus

Tori was born and raised right here in good ole Columbus, GA. She is a true southerner at heart who loves a side of fried okra and a glass of sweet tea. She has worked in childcare since 2011. Her career with Growing Room all started in 2016 where she was hired as a Lead Teacher in K2A. She has obtained her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and is currently enrolled at Troy University where she is studying to receive her Bachelors in Global Business. As a child, her dream was to be a teacher and she has far reached this dream and has created a forever home with Growing Room. Tori has a strong trait in relationships and exhibits her trait well with each of our families and children. She has been married since 2015 to her husband Cam and they are the proud parents of three beautiful children, Conally, Taylin, and Cameron Jr.

Shaundra Pough

Assistant Director of Growing Room Christian Academy of Columbus

Shaundra Maddox-Pough was born and raised in Columbus, GA where her friends call her “Shaun.” She is a proud Shaw Raider class of 2006. Shaun is married to Marlon Pough and together they have two energic children named Noah and Marley. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education of Applied Science and has been working in childcare since 2008. Also, she is a member of Abiding Faith Baptist Church under the leadership of Elder Arch Maddox and serves as the choir director. Shaun’s favorite bible verse is, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” Romans 8:28. In spare time, she enjoys singing, dancing, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Her humor and energy are welcoming and is the conduit she uses to empower those around her.

Lead Teacher

Responsible for the daily planning and implementation of the Growing Room curriculum. Ensures that all children are actively engaged in a safe, organized, stimulating classroom environment and actively develops and maintains positive child and parent relationships. Must understand and demonstrate age appropriate guidance principles and expectations. A CDA or higher education is desired. A High School Diploma/GED is required. Must have a minimum of 2 years group care experience in a quality child care environment.

Assistant Teacher

Responsible for ensuring children are actively engaged in a safe, organized, stimulating classroom environment. Assists in the daily management and supervision of the classroom and children as directed by the Lead Teacher. Must understand and demonstrate age appropriate guidance principles and expectations. A High School Diploma/GED is required. A minimum of 1 year working with children is strongly desired.

Van Driver

Responsible for ensuring children are actively engaged in a safe, organized, stimulating classroom environment. Assists in the daily management and supervision of the classroom and children as directed by the Lead Teacher. Must understand and demonstrate age appropriate guidance principles and expectations. A High School Diploma/GED is required. A minimum of 1 year working with children is strongly desired.

Cook

Responsible for preparing and serving breakfast, lunch, and snacks to 200+ children daily. This person is responsible for maintaining health and safety standards as outlined by the local Health Department. Must have a High School Diploma/GED, Serve Safe Certification, and experience in a commercial kitchen.

Kitchen Assistant

Responsible for assisting Cook with preparation and serving of breakfast, lunch and snacks to 200+ children daily. Has primary responsibility for daily kitchen clean up. Must have a High School Diploma/GED.
